Mairon Motorsport Managements first event at Daytona

Mairon Motorsport Management showcased its fundraising efforts earlier this month by raising more than £1,500 at its very first networking event, held at the Daytona Motorsport in Milton Keynes.

Basking in the bright sunshine at the UK’s best outdoor go-karting venue, the event brought together some of the countries most talented racing drivers and influential businesses together to spark healthy competition on and off the circuit.

No less than 16 teams contested the endurance race and it resulted in victory going the way of the Fast & Curious team, which included karting ace Tilly Watson.

While everyone had fun on-track, the setting provided the perfect opportunity for conversations to flow between athletes and sponsors; strengthening the importance of sponsorship activation within motor racing.

Underpinning the success of the event was the amount of money that was raised on behalf of Race Against Dementia, the global charity founded by Formula 1 legend Sir Jackie Stewart that is pioneering research into the prevention and cure of dementia.

Tommy Watson, Mairon Motorsport Management Founder: “What a day it has been, for our first Mairon Motorsport Management event I couldn’t have asked for any more and the feedback we’ve had has been hugely positive.

“All of our drivers and sponsors had a great time and importantly had the opportunity to sit down, network and spark some conversations that perhaps might turn into something later down the line - and that’s what it’s all about.

“In addition we were able to welcome our official charity partners Race Against Dementia down to the event and raised more than £1,500 - which was phenomenal as it exceeded my own expectations.

“We’ll have another event coming up later in the summer so we’ll get working on that shortly and then should be in a position to announce something in the near future.
